Executive Board members of FOP Lodge 50 and the Five-0 Foundation presented a $5,000 check to help support Team South Florida. Accepting the donation were founder and president, Rich Best and secretary Christine McIntyre Hurley of Team South Florida. Team South Florida is the organizer of the annual Florida Tour de Force Memorial Bicycle Ride, which Lodge 50 has graciously sponsored in the past. Their service to the law enforcement community also includes programs and initiatives such as:
- Attending the funeral services for Florida Law Enforcement Officers who are killed in the line of duty
- Sending a customized memorial plaque to their immediate family
- Sending birthday cards to their children
- Sending support cards to injured Law Enforcement Officers
- Host a Holiday Shopping Day for the children of fallen Florida Law Enforcement Officers
- Donating laptop computers to 17-year-old surviving teenagers of fallen Florida Law Enforcement Officers to further their education and career goals via the 9463 Foundation
- Donating toys for the 9463 Foundation’s Annual Toy Drives (these toys are delivered to the American Police Hall of Fame and then distributed to children of fallen Law Enforcement Officers throughout Florida as well as our entire country)
- Participating in positive events which support First Responders and/or the community, such as the Florida Tour de Force memorial bicycle ride
- Provide 24/7 availability for confidential and anonymous peer support for First Responders
We are proud to partner with Team South Florida and the commendable work they do for our brothers and sisters.
